I Want You

Good to see there are still black female artists out there who make good music who are original & not trying super hard to be a sex symbol. *cough*Nicki Minaj*cough*

Interestingly enough, a friend and I were discussing chivalry and its whereabouts and arrived at the conclusion that it "died" when women began acting promiscuous. Relating to the music industry and publicity, selling records, etc. basically any industry that involves an image, the people with more "sex appeal" seem to be more successful. Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj, just to name a few. It's a 50/50 liability issue between the audience and the performer because 1] the audience chooses whom they support and 2] the performer may or may not have a choice in the way they are publicized, Rihanna for example, after releasing "Good Girl Gone Bad". But it is refreshing to see there are still excellent artists out there who remain faithful to their ideals. I still listen to "Video" - India Arie. What happened to the word "beautiful"? All I hear is "SEXy".
